Welcome to NCSA′s home on the web!

Welcome to the New Canaan Soccer Association website. The New Canaan Soccer Association (NCSA) is a not-for-profit organization run by parent volunteers for the purpose of creating options for New Canaan youth residents to play soccer at their level of ability and to help them further develop their soccer abilities.

The NCSA currently sponsors boys and girls travel soccer teams from the U9 age group up through the U14 age group. The NCSA also offers skills training programs for U8 players who are not on a travel team.

Information about the NCSA, its programs and teams, and other soccer opportunities for New Canaan residents, is available on this site through the menu items on the left.

In addition to providing you with an overview of some changes to the program, the purpose of the meeting is to get each team set up for the start of the Fall Season. Each team will need to do the following before the meeting adjourns:

1)      Select a team manager (or co-managers) – without a team manager a team will not be entered in league play and will only practice. If no one volunteers, all names (including those of absent people) will be put in a hat and the position filled by lottery. Please consider volunteering for this important role.

2)      Solicit interest in the Sideline Assistant role – assist the professional coach with tracking playing time and maintaining order on the bench. This is NOT a coaching role.

3)      Determine the Team tournament coordinator and choose tournament. - All teams will participate in a tournament or jamboree reimbursed by the club.
Red teams: Labor Day weekend -- Ridgefield SCOR (scor.org) or Naugatuck SPIN (naugatucksoccer.org)
Black and Sunday White teams: Columbus Day Weekend – Bethel (bethelsoccer.org) or Rocky Hill/CFC ( rockyhillsoccerclub.com ) or Newington (newingtonsoccer.org)
U11-U12 Saturday teams – jamboree at end of fall season
U13-U14 Saturday teams – jamboree at end of Spring season

Sunday teams will need to decide which tournament to enter as registration is required over the summer. Please go to the tournament websites and familiarize yourself with the options so you can vote as a team at the parent meeting

4) Assign other team jobs – all parents will have a team job

5) 3rd Practice (Fall only): will be mandatory for Sunday teams and optional for Saturday teams.  Saturday players are asked to either opt in or out for the season as we need to determine staffing needs.  Days and times are expected to be Wednesday nights: 6-7PM (U13s); 7-8PM (U14s)

Friday afternoons: 3:15-4:15 (U12s); 4:15-5:15 (U11s)

Please bring the following to the meeting if it applies

1)      If interested in being the manager or sideline assistant – bring a passport sized photo (can be a cut up candid) with your name and child’s team written on the back, and the CJSA disclosure form if you didn’t already submit it http://www.cjsa.org/Portals/81/docs/Forms/VolunteerDisclosure.pdf
